Chapter 1 {: The Arrogant Heiress }

  • "Sandy...." Diana called out, popping her gum as she relaxed into the silky cushion, her hairdresser working on her hair. She was wearing a stunning red gown, her expensive handbag resting on her leg, and her glowing high heels catching everyone's attention.
  • A young lady in a maid outfit rushed towards her, panting heavily, and extended a dripping ice cream towards Diana. In a flash of frustration, Diana delivered a resounding slap to Sandy, causing gasps from the onlookers in the salon parlor.
  • "I asked for an ice cream, and you bring me a dripping mess!" Diana's voice thundered through the salon.
  • Sandy shivered in fear, her hand on her red face, tears streaming down her cheeks. "The...line...was...too long," she stuttered.
  • Diana scoffed and folded her arms. "That explains why you were late, but it doesn't explain why my ice cream is no longer cold."
  • Sandy bit her lip and looked down, unsure of what to say.
  • Diana let out a loud sigh. "I don't know why I am always surrounded by incompetent fools," she said and glared sharply at Sandy.
  • She gasped loudly when she saw her reflection in the mirror, her hand on her mouth as she stared back at herself in shock. She then turned to the hairdresser. "Is this what you call work?" She yelled, pointing at her hair. "You've ruined my hair!" She shouted and grabbed the hairdresser by the collar. "Where did they find you? You incompetent fool!" She slapped the hairdresser, who fell to the floor, crying heavily with her hands on her cheek.
  • "Please ma'am, I did what you told me to," the hairdresser muttered through her tears.
  • Some of the customers shook their heads in pity but dared not speak up to incur Diana's wrath.
  • "What I told you to," Diana yelled angrily, kicking the lady in the stomach, causing her to wail loudly and her fellow worker, Lissa, to bravely intercede.
  • "Calm down, ma'am, Fiona didn't mean to upset you," Lissa said courageously, unable to bear the inhumane treatment any longer.
  • Diana turned to Lissa with a death glare. "What is your name?" she asked, her hands on her hips.
  • "Lissa, ma'am," Lissa said.
  • "Well, Lissa, you are fired," Diana said with a wave of her hand.
  • "Fired?" Lissa asked in shock. "I can't believe I am losing my job," Lissa pleaded, shocked at the thought of being unemployed for trying to help. "Please, ma'am, I need this job to care for my family," she begged, tears streaming down her face.
  • Diana looked at Lissa with a hint of annoyance. "You should have considered that before meddling in affairs that do not concern you," she said, motioning to her guards. "Take her away," she instructed, her tone unwavering.
  • Lissa, her heart sinking in despair, pleaded once more, "Please, ma'am, I am truly sorry. I didn't mean to overstep. I just wanted to help."
  • But Diana remained unfazed, and the guards escorted Lissa out of the salon, despite her tearful pleas.
  • Turning her attention back to Fiona, who was still on the floor in pain, Diana sneered, "Will your apologies fix my hair?" She kicked Fiona in the leg, causing her to wince in agony.
  • The salon manager, having overheard the commotion, emerged from his office to confront Diana.
  • "What is going on here?" the manager demanded.
  • Diana stopped in her track and turned to glare at the manager. "If I had known my money would be used to hire useless workers, I wouldn't have contributed a dime, talk more of billions," she said with a glare.
  • The manager stared at her in shock. "What do you mean?" He asked, moving closer, his concern evident. "And what has Fiona done to deserve this treatment?"
  • Diana folded her arms and gave the manager a cold stare. "You don't have the right to question me unless you want to suffer the same fate," she warned, a hint of arrogance in her voice.
  • The manager stared at her, his eyes wide open in shock. "So you want to beat me?" He questioned as he supported Fiona, who was struggling to stand.
  • The manager, appalled by Diana's behavior, assisted Fiona and instructed one of his employees to take her to the hospital for medical attention.
  • Infuriated by the manager's interference, Diana rushed towards him and attempted to strike him. However, the manager deftly caught her hand and pushed her back, asserting his authority in the salon.
  • Diana stumbled back in shock. "How dare you?"
  • Feeling her control slipping, she summoned her guards to carry out her orders, but they remained steadfast, unwilling to comply with her abusive demands.
  • "What are you standing there for?" She yelled at them.
  • "Sorry ma, but Mr. Ross warned us not to touch his....."
  • Before he could finish, she gave him a hot slap.
  • Lex gasped but said nothing, bowing his head in submission.
  • "How dare you." She shouted and kicked his middle.
  • Lex yelped in pain, holding his balls. The remaining four guards moved back.
  • She glared at him before she got her phone, dialing a number.
  • "Hello." A male voice boomed at the other end; from the voice, you could tell how powerful he was.
  • "Dad...." She whined.
  • "What is it?" Mr. Ross asked, sitting up straight in his mahogany chair.
  • "It's your friend Mr. Alfred, the manager of *Beauty Salon." She pouted but then sent a glare to Mr. Alfred.
  • "How is he? I miss him." Mr. Ross said cheerfully.
  • "But... Dad.... He bullied me." Diana said into the phone. "And I want to teach him a lesson." She finished.
  • "He bullied you or you bullied him?" Mr. Ross asked, his eyebrows raised. He knew his daughter very well.
  • She removed the phone from her ears and glared into it before placing it back on her ears. "Dad... Can you just tell the guards to listen to me?" She asked cutely.
  • "No. And goodbye. " Mr. Ross said and hung up with a heavy sigh. Just then his secretary walked in.
  • Diana stared at the phone in shock before throwing it away in anger.
  • "Aaaahhhh." She yelled her hands to her hair. "Damn you Dad." She mumbled and faced Alfred. " You are one lucky son of a gun." She said and shot him a glare.
  • Alfred let out a scoff, then faced his workers. "Please continue your work." He said and went into his office.
  • Diana fumed. "How dare he!" She exclaimed in rage.
  • Outside the salon, Lissa was seething in rage for being fired without any reason and in front of her friends and workers.
  • She did not know what she would tell her family and how they can survive now that she is jobless. It was very hard for her to get this job.
  • She stared up at the salon. "Because you are rich you've decided to misuse your privilege." She worded, tears flowing from her eyes. " We shall see." She clicked her tongue and turned to go.
